It teaches IT professionals how to manage and identify risks. In order to obtain the certificate, you need three years of experience and must pass an exam. Continuing education credits are required to maintain the certificate.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional
This is a high demand certificate designed to impart security expertise and the average salary of someone holding this certificate is $121,729,

- Project Management Professional
Another certificate that may help secure a higher wage (about $119,349) is a project management professional certificate. Leadership skills and certifications show your value when working with a group. This certificate is open to bachelor’s degree holders as well as individuals with experience.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor
This certificate is obtained by individuals who audit, monitor, control, and/or assess IT and/or business systems. The wage for this is $115,470. It is one of the SACA’s oldest certificates available and more than 126,000 people received the certification since its inception in 1978.
